Is that the sun I can see? Summer is upon us, as is the final dinner of the season on Wednesday 6th of July. In a slight change, our venue will be the Tate Modern. We wanted to finish the season in summer with dinner overlooking London by the Thames. We’ve tried some different things this season, some have worked, some less so but I feel dinner at the Tate Modern is one of the safer bets.
Our speaker will be Penny James, the CEO of Direct Line Group, she is also the co-Chair of the FTSE Women Leaders Review, urging businesses to open up more opportunities for women at the highest level. Penny is a big believer in purpose and social mobility. She has been on a journey to modernise and digitally transform Direct Line Group. We are delighted to have her close out the season for us.
I hope those of you who were at last week’s dinner know a little more about the Metaverse, Web 3.0 as a concept and NFTs. I thoroughly enjoyed Raoul Pal’s energy, excitement and knowledge of a world that was once in the rear-view mirror and is now almost upon us. It has been an absolute honour to Chair this season.
I hope to be able to see you to say goodbye to my time in the role and to introduce you to the next Chair.
In the meantime, enjoy the sun.
