MGGB – Dame Jayne-Anne Gadhia

Firstly, thank you to everyone that battled through the train strike last week to see Dame Jayne-Anne Gadhia. Jayne-Anne made a wonderful speech about the importance of relationships throughout her working life and the significant impact a brand can have on the success of a business, ranging from Virgin Money through to her own start up Snoop!

I am delighted to share that at this month’s upcoming dinner – November 1st, we will hear from Steve Parish. Steve began his career working in computer graphics and went on to build one of the largest global production houses, Tag Worldwide with 2,800 employees in 13 countries. He sold the business to Deutsche Post DHL Group’s Williams Lea in 2011. Following the sale Steve went on to become Chairman for Crystal Palace Football Club. In June 2010, Steve led a consortium called ‘CPFC 2010’ to acquire Crystal Palace and save the club from a second spell in administration and imminent liquidation. Under Steve’s direction the club went on to be promoted to the English Premier League in May 2013. A lifelong supporter of the club Steve talks passionately about turning the club around, how marketing helped achieve that and the day to day challenges of running a premiership football club. Steve will be interviewed by The Times Sports Journalist Alyson Rudd, British Sports Journalist of the year 2019, Alyson is herself a fully qualified coach and referee. You can book your tickets here.

I am pleased to share we are working on two new breakfast events to be added to our schedule across my season, and Phil Smith our wonderful Emeritus Chair, is working with the team on the return of an Emeritus lunch for summer ’24. More to follow on these events in due course.

Thank you all for your feedback and support! Please do contact me if you have any thoughts ideas or feedback.

See you in November.

Best wishes

Jess
