2014/15 season

The 2014/15 season has only just begun but the events are already coming thick and fast.

NEXT WEEK: ’Digital lunch’ at Shoreditch House

We are hosting a MGGB lunch at Shoreditch House on Thursday 25th September with ‘digital innovation’ as our theme. All members are welcome to bring as a guest someone you consider a potential future MGGB member.

Our speakers will be Kathryn Parsons, the founder of ‘digital enlightenment’ agency Decoded; Andrew Fisher, the Chairman of Shazam, the nifty app that identifies music playing around you; and Simon Fox, CEO of Trinity Mirror and the brains behind new social content site UsVsTh3m.

We heard members loud and clear when you said you wanted a focus on Digital, more informal lunches and opportunities to introduce potential members to the group. We’re ticking all the boxes next Thursday!

It’s ‘first come, first served’ so please do get in quick; places are limited – it’s sure to be good. The dress code, like the event, is informal (no ties for gentlemen, Soho House rule). Come and enjoy a bite to eat – and perhaps a cheeky lunchtime glass of wine – and hear three of the leading figures in the industry talk digital.

Lord Charles March and glorious Goodwood!

Our second Claridge’s dinner of the season is on Wednesday 8th October with Lord Charles – Duke of Richmond and Earl of March & Kinrara – as our special guest of honour.

Lord March will be telling us the story of ‘glorious’ Goodwood, the famous racecourse set at the heart of his family seat. Charles’ skills and passions also extend to motor racing, classic cars and photography so we’re in for a diverse and entertaining evening.

Finally, guests at September’s season-opening dinner heard me launch our support of the Invictus Games and its legacy to support ex-servicemen and women find new careers post the Forces. We want to find 150 companies who will offer a 2 week unpaid work experience attachment to a member of the armed forces.

There’s no catch. Forces personnel are renowned for their values and your organisation will gain all the benefits of their loyalty, hard work and discipline, as well as their decision making and negotiating skills. In return, they will get an insight into your industry and what a new career could look like, and the chance to begin creating a professional network.

I’m pleased to say that over 50 companies have already signed up. To those members – thank you.  Can you join them and help us to hit our target? We will be posting something on the MGGB’s website but in the meantime please email me – <a href="mailto:andria viagra 100 mg.vidler@centaurmedia.co.uk”>andria.vidler@centaurmedia.co.uk.

Thank you very much indeed for your support. Let me know if you have any questions.

I’ll look forward to seeing you next Thursday at Shoreditch House, and on the 8th October at Claridge’s. Please keep your feedback coming as the season continues.
