Last week we were pleased to finally kick-off the season with Angus Thirlwell, Founder of Hotel Chocolat, as our speaker. Angus educated and entertained us with his journey from start-up, to international brand, through stock market listing to recent purchase by Mars. Those present also enjoyed some single-cote chocolates and luxurious drinking chocolate.
I can’t promise sweet treats next month, but I can promise a box office speaker. On Wednesday 5th November, we will be joined by David Lammy, Deputy Prime Minister, Justice Secretary, and until the recent reshuffle Foreign Secretary. David appeared on an MGGB panel some years ago when in opposition. As the second most senior politician in the UK, with such a broad understanding of government, it will be very interesting to hear about the transition from opposition to power. We are privileged to have this opportunity, so I hope it will attract a good attendance.
I’d also like to put our Christmas date on your radar – Wednesday 3rd December. As always it will be a festive treat, with Christmas dinner, and some entertainment. The speaker will be David Gandy, supermodel and entrepreneur. It can also be booked now, and is always a sell out, so please get ahead and start thinking about inviting guests to avoid disappointment.
