Dear Members,
It was a real pleasure to see so many of you last week at Claridge’s, with a great number of guests too. Fresh from the USA election results, the conversation between Brent Hoberman CBE and Evan Davis, journalist at the BBC where they touched on the role of tech in media and government. Also looking at the importance of attracting the best talent in the UK and the challenge to have more women at the helm of startups or benefiting from VC investments. The feedback so far received has been more polarised than previous dinners, perhaps this was due to the topic, the conversation, and the context on the night!
Our next dinner will be the Annual Christmas Celebration on December 4th at Claridge’s. We are planning for a real treat of music, Christmas tunes, great food and of course, great company.
We will start our evening with a Christmas medley sung by the Dementia Choir and our guests will be Mark De-Lisser, choral and music director and Vicky McClure MBE, actress and presenter. They will also tell the story behind the Dementia Choir and we will hear more from Vicky & Mark after dinner, on how music and singing can boost not just our mood, but our mental and physical health too.
As per tradition, we will donate to a charity of choice from our speakers. We will welcome everyone for a champagne reception at 6.30 pm with proceedings to start promptly at 7pm and aim to end the evening by 10.30pm, with the bar then opening for a last tipple.Dress code is black tie, with a touch of glitter and sparkle.
I am very excited to kick off the festive month with MGGB friends, and look forward to seeing you all soon.
All the best,
Alessandra
