MGGB – John Boumphrey – Country Manager at Amazon

Dear Members,

Thank you for those who were at the last dinner, with John Boumphrey – Country Manager at Amazon. We had quite the full room, and a provocative Q&A session. The feedback from the evening was more mixed than usual; as some were hoping to get more insight into Amazon business and marketing, and others appreciated the broad perspective and take on Business, People and Community, John set out in his keynote. I am always grateful to our Speakers for coming to MGGB to share their perspective, and to the Members’ for their feedback. We aim to build engaging and insightful evenings; so, thank you for taking the time to fill out the survey – we have also noted the comments and suggestions around food and drinks, which we will follow up on.

For all of those interested in learning more or contribute to the Multibank initiative, please follow this link https://themultibank.co.uk/.

The next dinner is on March 5th at Claridge’s. We will focus on the world of Influencer Marketing. In the UK alone, Ad spending on influencer marketing was expected to reach £930 million in 2024, a 48.5% increase from 2023, and globally it is estimated to be in 2024 a record of $24 billion, more than tripling since 2019.

We will hear from Jennifer Quigley-Jones, CEO & Founder behind award-winning Influencer Marketing agency, Digital Voices. Since founding the agency in 2017 with a £500 personal investment, Jennifer has set the standard for how brands should approach working with influencers and on social media. As well as building a reputation for diversifying the Influencer Marketing industry and being a leading voice in female entrepreneurship, Jennifer’s passion is empowering the next wave of entrepreneurs.

Jennifer will be in conversation with Eleanor Mills, British Journalist, and former editor of the Sunday Times.

I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to host an evening dedicated to the “next gen” of MGGB members. Please invite younger guests (below 35 years of age), be them in your professional or personal life. We look forward to an evening of interesting exploration and engaging conversation about the newest and fastest growing Advertising lever in building Brands.

All the best and see you soon,

Alessandra
