Dear members,
Thank you to all of you who joined us last week for our panel on ‘fake news, fake metrics, fake brands’. It was a great debate on an issue which we’ll no doubt revisit, and my thanks to David Pemsel, Sir Craig Oliver, Sue Unerman, and the venerable Torin Douglas for joining us!
It was also a pleasure to be able to announce that Jude Bridge, the Executive Director of Marketing, Fundraising & Public Affairs for Marie Curie will take over from me as our Chair in July. Jude’s a highly experienced marketer and a great ambassador for our industry and I’m looking forward to her season already.
Although I’m on countdown to the end of my season, there is still a lot to be excited about in the three dates we have remaining before our summer break.
On 7th June we’re going to be joined by the CEO of M&S, Steve Rowe. I’ve no doubt this will be a fantastic evening as Steve talks about his experience leading one of the country’s most well-known brands through an awful of lot of change in recent times. Booking is open now so please do get it in your diary.
In June (28<sup>th</sup>) we also have our special members event in the Long Room at Lords where we’ll be joined by some notable cricketing heroes past and present. Given the venue there’s a maximum of two guests per member so please think ahead on who you will want to bring! We’ll then finish the season in July (5<sup>th</sup>) with Ivan Menezes, the CEO of Diageo.
