Dear Members,
Last week we were joined by Jon Sopel who provided a fascinating insight and up to the minute analysis of the Trump presidency, of the administrations’ handling of the pandemic and of the race for the White House. Jon covered a huge amount of ground with great clarity and pace and I am sure we will all be watching as events unfold over the next three weeks even more intently as a result.
Our next virtual dinner takes place the day after the US election on the 4th of November, where we will be joined by Sir Jeremy Farrar OBE, the world renowned medical researcher, Director of the Wellcome Trust, member of SAGE and a regular advisor to the UK Government. With divisions emerging within Government about the handling of the pandemic, a perceived North-South divide and the likelihood of further restrictions, there will certainly be much to talk about. To guide us through the evening we will be joined by Sir Craig Oliver, former Director of Politics and Communication at No. 10, to ask the questions.
We continued to have a few challenges with the technology – with some having a brilliant experience but others less so! We will continue to use the Zoom platform so please can you make sure that you have the latest version running on your device. Details of how to do this are in the attached link update your Zoom app alternatively you can update directly here:

I hope you will join for us for what promises to be a special evening and as always, you can book online or write to Clare.
I look forward to seeing you all on November 4th.
Kind regards
Matt Barwell
Chair, The Marketing Group of GB
