Last Wednesday John Ridding got our season off to a cracking start, making a compelling case for quality journalism and offering his considered views on the responsibilities of the technology and advertising industries. With his frank and unruffled responses to robust questioning, he received a deservedly warm thank you from those attending.
Next month’s speaker, on Wednesday October 3rd, is Omar Abbosh, Group Chief Executive, Media & Technology – Accenture. Omar joined Accenture in 1989, progressing from Client Partner to Chief Strategy Officer and from there to his current role, which he assumed this month. As well as serving clients in the communications, media, high tech and platform industries, he is a member of Accenture’s Global Management Committee. He will be able to offer unique perspectives on the opportunities from AI and emerging technology and their impact on the worlds of business and work. Bookings are open, so please secure your places via the website or by writing to Clare Russell.
Separately, I would gently like to remind everyone of our dress code, which is black tie. Some colourful and some less than colourful variations on the theme were noted at last week’s dinner. We attract our speakers with the promise of a smart and prestigious event, so we should all play our part.
I look forward to seeing many of you in Claridge’s next month.
