Dominic Barton was a delightful guest and a superb speaker

Dear members
Our March dinner was a great success. Thankfully, The Beast from the East had moved on and our dinner went ahead without disruption. Dominic Barton was a delightful guest and a superb speaker. His speech was insightful, thought provoking and refreshingly honest as he reflected on the lessons he has learned about leadership during his tenure as Global MD McKinsey. Although I don’t think any of us envied his punishing travel schedule!
Our next speaker, on April 4th, is Katharine Viner, Editor in Chief of The Guardian.
Katharine is the first female editor of The Guardian. A journalist of the highest quality, she is passionate about press freedom and the importance of ‘true’ news. She is a powerful advocate and role model for equality and diversity. A theme very much in the news. I am looking forward to hearing Katharine speak, and I hope to see another full house, with some quality questions from the floor. Thanks to those who have already booked. We have 4 events left, so to those who have not been able to attend the last few dinners, get booking!
Looking ahead to the rest of the season:-
On May 2nd we will hear from the legendary sports broadcaster, John Motson. As the build -up to the 2018 Fifa World Cup starts, John will be celebrating 50 years of commentating on football with the BBC. He has some tales to tell as well as some clear views on the state of ‘the beautiful game’.
On the theme of games, I am delighted that Riccardo Zacconi, CEO King Digital Entertainment will be our speaker on June 6th. He will share the success story of Candy Crush as well as looking to future developments.
Please note that our final dinner of the season will take place on Mon July 2nd. Not Wed July 4th as previously communicated. We are just finalising arrangements for a grand finale to our season- at a spectacular venue. So, do put this in your diaries and watch this space for more details.
