Dear Members,
What a terrific evening on Wednesday! Before dinner we witnessed a frank conversation between Facebooks’ Carolyn Everson and Unilever’s Keith Weed on the huge changes underway at Facebook in response to its challenges on electoral integrity, privacy, trust and transparency. Then, our guest speaker, James Timpson OBE, received a standing ovation for his uncompromisingly straightforward approach to culture, trust and kindness to colleagues at Timpson.
With Christmas fast approaching, we have another double bill for our dinner on December 5th. We’ll be hearing the fine voice of Aled Jones MBE, the Welsh singer and presenter and we’ll also be hearing from Caroline Casey, the Irish activist and founder of Kanchi, which aims to improve the treatment of disability. Aled rose to fame in the 1980s following his performance of “Walking in the Air” for “The Snowman” and has pursued a career as breakfast TV and radio presenter. Caroline’s story of overcoming visual disability has led her to become a serial social entrepreneur and TED speaker. We can expect another tremendous night. Bookings are open, so please secure your places via the website
or by writing to Clare.
Finally, as announced, on Wednesday we have established a private LinkedIn group for members who wish to communicate with each other and receive Club notifications. You will need a LinkedIn account to be able to join. Do follow this link to apply for membership of the group.
I look forward to seeing you all next month.
Best wishes,
Phil Smith
